Inside Globe Life Field

They say everything is bigger in Texas, and Arlington is no different.  Baseball in Texas has been cool, not literally of course, ever since Toby Harrah helped usher our nation’s pastime to the DFW Metroplex.

As you approach Globe Life Field, you cannot miss the giant red Rangers “T” atop the retractable roof!

A few things to keep in mind when heading there for a game:  A) Texas Live! is one of the best pregame gathering spots in all of baseball.  It is huge, it has GIGANTIC TVs for all sports, it has two floors and it has a ton of food and drink options.   B) There is no public transportation in the city of Arlington, Texas, so plan accordingly.   You can, however, take the Arlington Entertainment District Trolley to the game as well as use normal ride sharing services available on our phones.

As far as “pregaming”, you are either going to Texas Live!, one of the nearby hotels or you are going right to the game!

Once you get in, you will not be disappointed.  The place is HUGE, the PA announcer is legendary, the food options are plentiful and the team is well, pretty damn good right now.  They won the 2023 World Series, led by Corey Seager, Adolis Garcia, Manager Bruce Bochy and a strong supporting cast.

The business side of the team is run in a first-class manner, the in-game entertainment is full of tradition and the promotional giveaways are elite!

The concourses are very wide and pretty much provide you a full 360-degree view, save for a few steps along the outside perimeter of the concourse.

My personal favorite food stop is the Whataburger along the third base line!  But if you’re looking for some Texas BBQ, keep walking to the left field corner of the main concourse and check out Hurtado and get some of the best the Metroplex has to offer!

Another thing that stands out is the artwork around the ballpark.  The Rangers are great at remembering their legends, and there are a LOT of them!  Get there early, like you should in almost every ballpark, and take a walk around the concourse and check it all out.

One heads up … be alert when the Rangers hit a home run ... the fireworks bangs are so loud that it will scare the daylights out of you if you aren’t ready for them!  They come from the top of the scoreboard, so keep your eyes out.  Yes, you heard that right, firework bags in an indoor ballpark, but they quick, to the point and yes, they are safe!

The Grand Slam Team Store is huge, as expected, and has plenty of options for purchase.

As you walk around the outfield concourse, the Rangers have perhaps the most unique use of pillars in a building I’ve ever seen – they carved out space for the jerseys, photos and a plaque for each of their retired jersey numbers as well as their 2023 World Series-winning team.

The ushers, vendors and staff could not possibly be more friendly or welcoming, especially Raniel, who works one of the elevators behind home plate.

The only real shame of this park, so far, is that the Rangers won the 2023 World Series on the road and not in Arlington!
