Overview
Sacred Grounds Takes Baseball Fans Behind the Scenes of All 30 Major League Ballparks
Former Major League Baseball TV field reporter Robby Incmikoski invites fans on an unprecedented journey through America’s favorite pastime with the release of his debut book, Sacred Grounds — an immersive collection of photography and first-person stories celebrating the character, culture, and community of every MLB ballpark.
After 16 seasons traveling the league as a reporter for the Twins, Pirates, and Rangers, Incmikoski brings readers where few get to go — from dugouts and clubhouses to media booths and bullpens — capturing thousands of behind-the-scenes images and 120+ interviews with the people who make each park special.
A Love Letter to Baseball’s Cathedrals
Sacred Grounds pairs Incmikoski’s all-access photography with moving, funny, and deeply personal reflections from players, broadcasters, and fans whose lives have been shaped by the game. From Barry Bonds’ 756th home run to the lingering heartbreak of Sid Bream’s slide, the book blends history, nostalgia, and awe into a vivid portrait of what baseball means to America’s cities.
The book also features exclusive essays by some of the sport’s most recognizable voices and cultural icons:
Joe Buck — “Growing Up Baseball”
Chuck D — “The Rhythm of the Game”
Kenny Albert, Brian Baldinger, Mary Ours, and Matt Vasgersian — each contributing reflections on the ballparks and memories that shaped their love of the game
A foreword by Janet Marie Smith, Executive Vice President of Planning & Development for the Los Angeles Dodgers and one of baseball’s most influential architects
More Than a Book — A Living Archive
Beyond its 250+ pages of photos and stories, Sacred Grounds connects readers to a larger multimedia project at www.robbyinc.com, where visitors can explore extended interviews, exclusive galleries, and digital exhibits for all 30 ballparks plus Cooperstown’s National Baseball Hall of Fame.
