Famous Moments & People in Angel Stadium History

• Bo’s Knows a Leadoff Smash! - 1989 All-Star Game – With Vin Scully and former president Ronald Regan calling the game on national TV in the booth, Bo Jackson takes the 3rd pitch he sees from Giants P Rick Reuschel and hammers it about 450 feet to centerfield, propelling him to the game’s MVP honors in the 60th edition of the mid-summer classic.

• Game Seven, 2002 World Series – With John Lackey on the mound, the Angels win their first World Series title.  Lackey becomes just the second rookie pitcher to start and win a Game Seven in a World Series.

• Albert Pujols

• The Rally Monkey – During a June, 2000 game, the “Rally Monkey” first appeared on the video board in what would become the Angels’ rallying cry.  In the 2002 World Series, “Jump Around” from House of Pain became famous again!

• Jered Weaver’s no-hitter – May 2nd, 2012 – With the Minnesota twins in town, Jered Weaver slings the 9th individual no-hitter in Angels history. Weaver, who played 11 of his 12 MLB seasons in Anaheim and made three all-star teams, allowed just a passed ball and a walk in his 121-pitch gem.
